Critic ‘kritik/ n. 1. A person who judges the merits of literary or artistic works, especially one who does so professionally.

This is what I do, I critique things professionally, more specifically films, video games, and other pop culture related things such as graphic novels and the occasional music show/album.

I fell in love with cinema from an early age, ever since sitting in front of my parent’s television set watching Mary Poppins. My very favourite films tend to lean more towards the horror genre; films such as Ridley Scott’s Alien, John Carpenter’s The Thing, William Friedkin’s The Exorcist and Guillermo Del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth are the first that come to mind. However, I like to watch a wide range of different genres in order to expand my film knowledge.

I've worked as a Deputy Editor-in-Chief at melty where I wrote articles and edited and hosted videos on cinema and TV, all things geared towards 'youth culture'. I am also the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the online pop culture magazine Small Screen, which I designed and coded myself. I host my own film and TV radio show, which I subsequently podcasted, called Small Screen's Film Club. As well as working on and writing for melty and Small Screen I have also written for a variety of online publications such as ShortList, Taste of Cinema and Empire Magazine.
